Musicians come alongside the USS Missouri while inport

The Third Division, under Admiral Seaton Schroeder, was tasked with sending ships to Piraeus, the Greek port for Athens.  Schroeder split his fllet in two and sent the Missouri and Ohio to Athens.  With only two ships visiting the port, it has proven to be one of the most difficult stops to find items from the Fleet's visit.  To the best of my knowledge, there are not any postcards issued for the fleet visit and I can not find any programs or pins.

I feel quite lucky to have found the correspondence of George F. Biller, O.S, USS Missouri.  The cards shown above are supported by his other cards sent to Miss Fanny Light and found on this site under: George F. Biller.

The five real photo postcards shown on this site are from the collection of M. R. Battey, USS Missouri.  From the photos of his collection, it appears the photographer did not get ashore beyond the fleet landing.  Images of small boats alongside and the two Russian warships in the harbor provides a glimpse of the activity around the ship.
