This card was mailed by Rex Wilhite, USMC, USS Virginia.  Native Americans of the Northwest was an interesting feature for sailors of the Atlantic Fleet

When the Fleet arrived in Puget sound, the Second Squadron divided off to Port Angeles under Rear Admiral Emory.  They were then split to send the Third Division, the Louisiana, Virginia, Ohio and Missouri for a two day visit in Port Angeles.  At left is a postcard of the USS Wisconsin mailed in Port Angeles, but photographed during the ship's visit probably earlier in the year.  Wisconsin went to Bremerton on May 21st and returned to San Francisco on June 22, 1908.
