| The
Sites of Trinidad
Richard
arrived in Trinidad and got busy with his camera for
the time he had ashore. From the photographs it
appears that he was only ashore for one day but had
a chance to take in many of the sites.
As
he went ashore his photographs are from street scenes
and attractions of the city. A photograph in the
park relaxing under a palm tree.

At left a group
of sailors gather on a street corner in front of a street
cafe. Much of his day was probably spent walking
down streets and identifying things that re different
and the same with their hometown and American culture.

Popular sites
in any city are to visit the important pieces of architecture,
typically including the churches and cathedrals.
As with many of the photographs of
this
collection, the photographs of this Byzantine type cathedral
at left and right is unidentified.

At right is a
photograph of the fleet anchored in the Port of Spain,
Trinidad. This is the only photograph that I have
found showing the fleet in Trinidad and shows liberty
boats transiting to the ships.
