Life onboard the
USS Georgia involved many routine acts and included
a group of mascots for the crew. The photo to
the left shows a crewmember with the cub bear that the
Georgia received from Aberdeen, Washington while visiting
Seattle. On the right is a liberty launch being
towed in the harbor by the ship's steamer. This
was the method of transfering sailors ashore.

These
two cards are from the fleet parade. There
was considerable discussion regarding allowing
the sailors to parade with flower leis.
It was decided to present them after
the parade. In these photos, two sailors
can be seen with a lei on.
