H. H. Stratton of Chattanooga, Tennessee

The cards published by H. H. Stratton are the most complete set of postcards to document the cruise.  From the set of cards it can be seen that an effort was made to create more than one card for each of the major port visits.  These cards were completed and made available upon return to Hampton Roads.  Many from my collection were mailed within the first few weeks of their return.  In examining the cards it is apparent that many of the photos used for these cards where provided by Brown & Schaffer.   This set of cards continues to supprise me, everytime I think I have them all, another one pops up!

I was contacted by Les Cowman of Melbourne, Australia who was able to education me regarding these cards.    H. H. Stratton of Chattanooga, Tennessee published a boxed set of thirty-six coulor cards of the fleet trip.  The cover of the box is shown below, source:  Picture Postcards in the United States 1893-1918 by Dorthy B. Ryan.

In addition Les was able to provide an index to the cards of this set.  Thanks Les!
