The
Fleet in San Francisco Bay
|

|
The fleet arrived
in San Francisco through the Golden Gate with great ceremony.
The review of the Secretary of the Navy included
Admiral Dewey on a separate ship watching the fleet
pass. This group of photographs show the fleet
going to anchor and Admiral Dewey's ship. They
were photographed by a private citizen probably from
one of the many tourist boats.

While the fleet
lay at anchor in the harbor, may changes occurred command
of the fleet, beginning with the lowering of Admiral
Evans' flag from the Connecticut on May 9th.
